Business Unit Manager (Food & Beverage)

Universal Avenue is now looking for a Business Unit Manager for the segment Food & Beverage, which includes restaurants, cafés and bars. You will be responsible for taking an already profitable business unit to the next level, both in Sweden and internationally.

What you will do

As a Business Unit Manager you will help thousands of Small and Medium sized businesses (SMBs) digitize and take their business to the next level. You will become a thought leader within the area and take the company to a market leading position internationally through strategic partnerships and business development.

  • Business Development - you will create international strategic partnerships to grow our reach in the segment and position us as the go to destination for buying digital solutions
  • P&L responsibility - you will be responsible for delivering the numbers within this segment and continuously accelerate top line growth with increasing margins
  • Sales - to learn the segment inside out you will during the initial months work hands on with contacting individual SMBs systematically for extensions of current services, and advice on changes and upgrades (this part will be phased out / limited to large accounts beginning of 2019)
  • Account Management - Develop relationship with SMBs in need of a digital advisor guiding them to the right digital marketing purchases (continuously staying on top of what the end customer needs and wants), scaling a team in this area as the customer base grows
  • Product & Process development - Advice and support internal resources at a few of UA large corporation clients (clients with several SMBs within their account with UA) and provide input to product team working with the product for this segment
  • Client Development - Develop brand relations with 8-10 digital service suppliers promoted within the account, with the target of driving automation of reporting and results
  • Digital Promotion - Promote and explain digital services through spoken and written presentations: video, on-stage, written formats. Becoming a thought leader in the segment

Together with our team you will also work with developing reporting structures that give individual SMBs an understanding for their results and support the implementation of a an ISO 9001 quality management system

This is not a role suitable for everyone, our selection process for this role is extensive and includes multiple interview rounds, case analyses and tests.

Required Skills

  • A creative high performer with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage an international business unit and team with full P&L responsibility
  • MSc. in Business / Engineering or similar
  • Strong social skills and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

Nice to have skills:

  • Fluency in Swedish
  • International work experience
  • P&L and team responsibility
  • Experience from Food & Beverage segment
  • Experience from rapid scaling in a startup environment
  • Experience from doing strategic partnerships
  • Basic understanding of SMBs and their main characteristics
  • Understanding of digital marketing and best practices
